Alitalia’s route network plans show the Italian carrier being pulled into orbit around the fast-growing, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, following the closing of a long-awaited major investment deal. From winter 2014, Alitalia will increase frequency between Rome Fiumicino and Abu Dhabi from 5X-weekly to daily and start a new daily service between Milan Malpensa and the emirate.
