The Council of the European Union (EU) has voted to remove duties on jet fuel imports that were due to come into effect at the beginning of next year. The Council said the suspension of these duties would avoid the inevitable price increase that would have followed application of the new scheme of generalized tariff preferences, which becomes effective Jan. 1, 2014.
