The ATW Decade of Excellence Award is new this year and recognizes an individual who has made a long-term and significant commitment that has had a profound influence on the air transportation industry.

As IATA director general and CEO from 2002 until last year, Giovanni
Bisignani orchestrated some of the greatest changes the industry association has seen during a decade that witnessed the most tumultuous times that the world’s airlines had ever endured.
