European Commission and US FAA unveiled a transatlantic emission-reduction initiative called AIRE (Atlantic Interoperability Initiative to Reduce Emissions), which EC VP-Transport Jacques Barrot said will "speed up the application of technologies and procedures having a direct impact on greenhouse gas emissions."
