Republic to buy Shuttle America to expand 170 operations

Republic Airways Holdings late Thursday placed a bid to purchase Shuttle America, which if accepted will enable it to fly additional Embraer 170s while remaining in compliance with the pilot contracts of the mainline carriers it currently serves. Republic is offering $1 million for Shuttle America and will assume less than $1 million in debt if the deal is approved.
