A spokesperson for MAIR Holdings, parent of bankrupt Mesaba Airlines, confirmed to ATWOnline that the company is in discussions with Northwest Airlines about a possible acquisition. Mesaba has been in bankruptcy since October 2005. "The discussions are at a very preliminary stage, so they don't merit specific comment at this point," MAIR's Jon Austin said yesterday. At the same time, he said the company will continue "working with Mesaba on restructuring and any opportunity it presents." ...
