Russia’s S7 Engineering, an MRO member of the S7 Group, will provide maintenance for Azimuth Airline’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) fleet, the regional carrier said in a statement Aug. 8.

The Rostov on Don-based carrier, which is scheduled to start operations in September, will have a fleet of 12 SSJ100s. Azimuth took delivery of its first SSJ100 July 7. The aircraft is leased by State Transport Leasing Co.

S7 Engineering launched a dedicated SSJ100 line station at Rostov on Don in July.

In 2016, S7 Engineering won approval by Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (FAP-285) for all types of SSJ100 line and base maintenance services, as well as component repairs.

Until recently, the company provided SSJ100 maintenance only at its facilities at Moscow Domodedovo and Mineralnye Vody airports. S7 Engineering has performed 24 periodic maintenance checks on SSJ100s for operators including IrAero, Gazprom Avia and Yamal.

The MRO provider has created a pool of spare parts and components to operate maintenance checks independently of the OEM, up to C checks. It also has contracts in place with the lineup of SSJ100 component suppliers.
