GE Aviation plans to start testing this summer on a high pressure compressor (HPC) rig for the GE9X engine designated for the Boeing 777X. The HPC test rig will occur in Massa, Italy. “GE plans on spending $200 million in 2013 on maturation testing of technologies for the new GE9X engine,” the company said in a statement.
