Mexico’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation has authorized Interjet to continue operating three international routes previously operated by Mexicana Airlines, which suspended operations under severe financial distress in August 2010. Interjet had been awarded temporary route rights for services out of Mexico City into Miami, New York City and San Antonio, Texas. These rights have now been extended until Mexicana gets back in the air. Currently, the future of Mexicana is unclear.
