Germanwings switches airports in Berlin

Lufthansa (LH) subsidiary Germanwings (4U) said it will transfer all operations from Berlin Schoenefeld to Berlin Tegel airport (TXL) Oct. 28 due to the delayed opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to Oct. 27, 2013.

Lufthansa (LH) subsidiary Germanwings (4U) said it will transfer all operations from Berlin Schoenefeld to Berlin Tegel airport (TXL) Oct. 28 due to the delayed opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to Oct. 27, 2013 (ATW Daily News, Sept. 4). 4U said in a statement that it originally planned to coordinate all schedules with LH at BER, but was not able to do so because of the delayed opening. Until then, 4U and LH will operate together out of TXL and then transfer operations to BER.
