Icelandair has committed to purchase 12 Boeing 737 MAXs, comprising a mixture of MAX -8s and -9s.

The order is valued at more than $1.2 billion at list prices, according to Boeing. Icelandair, which has an all-Boeing 757 fleet, will use the aircraft to further expand its Reykjavik-based hub, offering more service to Europe and North America.
