Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Company, the parent of low-cost leisure carrier Allegiant Air (G4), reported third-quarter net income of $16.9 million, up 78% from a $9.5 million profit in the year-ago period. The airline said ancillary air-related revenue per passenger has grown to $37.05 in the third quarter 2012, a $4.66 increase since the first quarter, and an increase of 22% over third quarter 2011.
