UK airline EasyJet has renewed its supply chain management agreement with AJW Group for a further seven years. 

Under the renewed ties, AJW will continue to oversee the planning and delivery of the airline’s demand and supply requirements from inventory management across the EasyJet network. This will include full component repair and overhaul services, along with the provision, storage and distribution of all rotable, consumable and expendable materials.

Looking to enhance to the partnership, AJW says Easyjet will now have access to parts and materials located at an EU hub located at Milan Malpensa airport in Italy, which will compliment the existing site in the UK.

In addition, AJW is developing and investing in process re-engineering and automation tools aimed at better operational performance and cost reductions. Montreal, Canada-based AJW Technique, the company’s repair division, will continue to oversee component repairs for the airline.

The two parties first entered into the contract in 2015 covering the repair, supply and management of the low-cost carrier’s components for its Airbus A320-family fleet. At the time, the contract took the number of aircraft overseen by AJW to more than 900.

AJW says the extended contract was born out of a tender process which started back in January 2019.
