Alitalia pilots and flight attendants plan to strike Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time. The walkout was called by the pilot union ANPAC in response to “unsatisfactory” responses from the company regarding flight operations and social security provisions since its merger with Abu Dhabi’s Etihad last year. At the end of December 2014, Etihad took a 49% share in the Italian flag carrier. The union is also planning a 24-hour strike May 7.
