Turkish Airlines reported 2012 annual net income of TRY1.13 billion ($632.3 million), up from TRY19 million in the year-ago period.

Sales revenue rose 26% to TRY14.9 billion, producing an operating profit of TRY1.05 billion, up 192% year-over-year.

In 2012, Turkish Airlines carried 39 million passengers, up 20% over 2011. Traffic rose 26%, and ASKs increased 18%, producing a load factor of 77.4%, up 4.8 points.

Last year, the carrier operated 202 aircraft, comprising 159 narrowbodies, 36 widebodies and seven cargo aircraft.

Turkish opened 32 new routes in 2012 and now flies to 217 destinations, including 181 international routes in 96 countries.
