Pratt & Whitney said it has assembled and started testing the first PW1900G engine set to power the Embraer E-190-E2 and E-195-E2 aircraft. The PW1900G is the latest engine in the geared turbofan (GTF) family. It is a derivative of the PW1500G powering the Bombardier CSeries. Pratt president-commercial engines Greg Gernhardt said, “This marks the first concrete milestone we’ve reached with Embraer and is the fourth of our [GTF] engines to enter into the test program.” ...
