Hawaiian Airlines parent Hawaiian Holdings reported a $51.5 million net profit for the 2016 first quarter, nearly doubling its 1Q 2015 $25.9 million net income. First-quarter revenue grew 2% year-over-year (YOY) to $551.2 million, while expenses were down 2.1% YOY to $459.3 million, producing an operating income of $91.9 million, up 29.1% year-over-year.
