Need I say Moores

Christmas presence

As a journalist, I receive some pretty wacky announcements, but Santa formally opening a set of airport restrooms takes this year’s festive top spot.

Apparently, Santa took a break from his intense schedule, lured in by the “fun, fresh and funky design” of the £300,000 restroom ($447,000) upgrade at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in northern England.

After cutting the ceremonial loo roll – and taking a few moments to enjoy the LED lighting, contemporary trough sinks and automatic toilet flush facility – Santa was back on his way.

This “opening ceremony like no other” was followed by a drinks reception…in the new loos. You can read the full press release here.

Sadly, this major breaking aviation news item was overtaken by a few other stories, including the Bombardier CS100 being certified by Transport Canada and the liberalization of air services between the USA and Mexico.

But, while the loo opening didn’t quite make ATW’s core content, it will take some topping in 2016.
