He began his career as a journalist in the US Army, where he attended the Defense Information School. He later worked as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers in upstate New York before joining the Gannett Government Media Corp. in Virginia. At GGMC he served for 20 years as an editor for several publications, including Air Force Times, Marine Corps Times, Armed Forces Journal, C4ISR Journal and Training & Simulation Journal. Before joining ATW he worked as the associate editor of AIAA’s Aerospace America magazine.

He lives in Burke, VA, with his wife, Amy.
