Thailand’s Airports Authority (AOT) has said it will go ahead with airport upgrades, despite the country’s red flag status issued by ICAO in June following an unsatisfactory response to a safety audit earlier this year. The airports include both major Bangkok sites—Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang—as well as Phuket, Hat Yai, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
