Lufthansa Group subsidiary Austrian Airlines is launching a program in the fall to renew its medium-haul fleet, which it expects to conclude at the end of 2017. Pending formal approval by its supervisory board on March 29, Austrian will begin replacing its aging fleet of 21 Fokker 70/100 aircraft with 17 Embraer E-195s.
