Gallery: Salzburg Airport welcomes ski tourists to Austria
Salzburg Airport, located close to the Austrian Alps, is one Europe's top two airports for winter charter operations. Every Saturday between late December until March/April, the airport handles up to 30,000 passengers—most of them tourists, who fly in from all over Europe, Israel or Russia to ski. The airport handles around 210 aircraft movements on peak Saturdays. The most common aircraft types are Airbus A321s and Boeing 757s, in addition to several Boeing 777 or 747 aircraft.
