Snecma Services won a seven-year Engine Services Per Operation contract with Czech Airlines to provide MRO support for CFM56-3s. Agreement includes a package of services aimed at ensuring reliability and optimal costs through efficient planning and strategic maintenance. Snecma Services will provide remote engine monitoring services and Snecma Services Brussels will handle shop visits.
Swissport International announced it will end its ground handling operations in Singapore on the last day of March for economic reasons. The decision will result in termination of commercial agreements with existing customers and business partners. The company said it intends to seek "the best possible solutions" for its some 300 employees in Singapore. Despite the termination there, Swissport plans to increase its focus in Asia, especially in the Japanese and South Korean markets.
Volvo Aero Services Corp. reached a five-year preferred supplier agreement with Ethiopian Airlines to position more than $20 million in engine material to support MRO activities. In exchange, Ethiopian will provide VAS with MRO support on select engines and material.
