The union has called for strike action between Feb 22 and Feb 25. However, French law mandates that an airline is given at least 48 hours’ notice of strike action, enabling it to adapt it schedules.
An Air France spokesperson told ATW that this was sufficient time to put non-striking pilots in place and ensure a normal schedule.
If agreement is reached with the union, it will enable the company to continue developing Transavia France Paris Orly this year. Transavia France is part of Air France Group’s Transform 2015 restructuring plan and aims to increase Air France’s European presence.
The minority union did not sign the Transform 2015 restructuring plan.
