A US federal judge has formally approved the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) antitrust settlement with American Airlines and US Airways. The airlines reached an agreement on terms of the settlement with DOJ last November, enabling the carriers to avoid a court standoff with DOJ and paving the way for the closing of their mega-merger in December.
