Boeing plans to operate a second 787 battery certification test flight Friday with a production aircraft designated for LOT Polish Airlines.
“Today’s demonstration flight is the final certification test for the new battery system,” Boeing said in a statement. “The purpose of the test is to demonstrate that the new system performs as intended during normal and non-normal flight conditions.”
The flight is expected to take off from and land at Paine Field in Everett, Wash. It is scheduled to depart at 11 a.m. local time in Everett and last two hours.
