Central Asia-based Uzbekistan Airways is converting its two Boeing 767-300ERs into freighters to expand cargo operations from Tashkent to Shanghai Pudong, Hong Kong and Guangzhou. The first aircraft is being converted in Singapore and should be ready in November, European regional manager Timur Kerimov recently told ATW. He added that Uzbekistan Airways plans to add cargo flights to Frankfurt and will replace its Airbus A300 freighters. Uzbekistan Airways is on track to join SkyTeam in 2014.
