The US Dept. of Transportation (DOT) has levied tarmac delay fines against Copa Airlines and Virgin America. The Panama-based Copa Airlines was charged with leaving passengers aboard an aircraft at New York’s JFK International Airport for five hours and 34 minutes with no food or water and for failing to report the delay to the US agency.
