Russia’s Aeroflot has firmed orders for 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft July 18 at the MAKS Air Show. The agreement follows an MOU that was signed in January 2015.

The ordered aircraft will have 87 seats in a two-class configuration. Currently, Aeroflot operates 30 of the type with the same configuration.

“The new planes will be used on domestic flights throughout Russia, on routes to CIS countries, and will also fly to a number of European destinations,” Aeroflot said in a statement. “The first aircraft is scheduled to be delivered this summer. Delivery is expected to be completed exactly one year later, in July 2018.”
