The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) has gained certification for improved takeoff performance on flights at Sweden’s Stockholm Bromma Airport, which has a short runway of 1,660 meters (2,165 ft.) and is situated within the boundaries of the city.

“For landing in Bromma, the SSJ100 needs only 1,425 meters even loaded with maximum landing weight,” Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) said in a statement.

The Russian manufacturer added: “The improved takeoff performance has been confirmed during the certification as a result of a series of actions aimed at SSJ100 improvements for certain customer tasks. The aircraft within the customer’s fleet were upgraded by the B100 option—the increased thrust engine with maximum takeoff weight, avionics software optimization as well as the lift devices control system improvements—all that allowed [the reduction of] necessary takeoff and landing distance.”

In May, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted type certificate approval for the new SSJ100 version, B100, which is equipped with higher thrust SaM146 engines that are also are installed on theSSJ100 long-rangevariant.

SCAC said the aircraft also met noise level reduction requirements during the Bromma flights. The company “put into practice the environment noise level not more than 89 Db if measured in three points, in full compliance with ICAO Annex16,” it said.
