Airlines for America (A4A) announced that American Airlines chairman and CEO Doug Parker will become the chairman of the A4A board of directors, effective immediately. He succeeds former United Continental Holdings chairman, president and CEO Jeffery Smisek. Also joining the A4A board will be newly appointed United CEO and president Oscar Munoz.
Etihad Airways has appointed Sajida Ismail as VP-service and hospitality to lead service design and development of the hospitality culture across all areas of the business. She moves to the new role from her previous position as Etihad Airways’ head of product and service standards.
Vueling appointed David García Blancas as its new CCO. He is formerly CCO of Poland’s LOT Airlines.
Delta Air Lines appointed Alan Lavender as area sales manager for its UK Cargo division. He joins Delta from Cathay Pacific where he spent more than 10 years as key account manager and helped to launch the airline’s pharmaceutical shipping product in UK.
Sabre Corp. named current Sabre Travel Network EVP and president Greg Webb to the new role of Sabre vice chairman, effective immediately. Sabre also announced that Sean Menke will join the company, effective Oct. 5, as EVP and president of Sabre Travel Network.
Hawaiian Airlines appointed Timothy Somerset to director-facilities management. He is responsible for managing Hawaiian Airlines’ new projects and renovations, as well as the administration and maintenance of facilities company-wide. Somerset has over 25 years of preconstruction and construction management expertise, having most recently served as director at Cumming Corporation Hawaii.
