Contact has been lost with an Air Algerie Boeing MD-83 with 110 passengers and six crew on board. Air Algerie has told Algeria’s state news agency that contact was lost with the aircraft, operating flight AH5017, about 50 minutes after take-off Thursday from Ouagadougou Burkina Faso. It was bound for Algiers. Spanish charter company Swiftair, which chartered the aircraft to Air Algerie, also issued a statement saying contact has been lost.
