The Lufthansa Group supervisory board has appointed telecommunications expert Thorsten Dirks as the new CEO of low-cost carrier (LCC) Eurowings and Aviation Services, effective May 1, 2017. He will succeed Karl Ulrich Garnadt, who will retire April 30, 2017 when his contract expires. Dirks has a three-year contract and will take office in Cologne, the Eurowings Group headquarters.
