Virgin Atlantic has named former American Airlines executive Craig Kreeger as its CEO, effective Feb. 1.

[CORRECTED] Virgin Atlantic has named American Airlines executive Craig Kreeger as its CEO, effective Feb. 1. Kreeger replaces Steve Ridgeway, who will retire after 23 years with the UK carrier. Kreeger will oversee Virgin Atlantic’s transatlantic joint venture with Delta Air Lines and its foray into the short-haul market. Virgin Atlantic announced Ridgway’s plans to retire in September.
