Three carriers plan PSS migrations

Korean Air and ANA, Japan’s largest carrier, signed contracts to migrate to the full Amadeus Altea Customer Management Solution.

Aerolineas Argentinas, meanwhile, expanded its 12-year relationship with Sabre and will use the next-generation SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service system.

Korean Air also selected Amadeus to power its TOPAS subsidiary, which provides a central reservations system for the Korean market.

Amadeus will provide the technology for a next-generation travel agency reservation system, based on the Amadeus Selling Platform.

Korean Air and Amadeus have been joint shareholders of TOPAS since 1999, when Amadeus acquired 32% of the company.

However, this will be the first time that Amadeus technology will be widely introduced to the Korean travel industry.

ANA is the first Japanese carrier to sign a contract for Amadeus Altea.

Altea will replace the carrier’s 20-year-old legacy passenger services system.

In addition to the SabreSonic CSS, Aerolineas Argentinas will use SabreSonic Web to power its website.

The Argentine carrier also renewed its full-content distribution agreement with Sabre Travel Network.
