Hong Kong Airport Authority and 40 airport business partners pledged to reduce the airport's carbon emissions by 25% per workload unit (one passenger or 100 kg. of cargo) by 2015. It is the first airport-wide carbon intensity reduction pledge in the world and also the first voluntary, sector-wide carbon intensity reduction pledge in Hong Kong, according to the airport authority.
