Alaska Air Group subsidiaries Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air released their first environmental report that tracks several key areas, including their fuel-conservation efforts, greenhouse gas emissions and inflight recycling programs. The report notes that the airlines have reduced their CO2 emissions by 23% since 2004, mainly through the retirement of Alaska’s MD-80s, which were replaced with 737-800s and -900s.
