Flybe reports strong first-quarter, full-year results

Flybe reported pre-tax profit of £12.2 million ($21.5 million) for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, a 14% rise from the £10.7 million earned in the year-ago period, as revenue increased 13.7% from £136 million to £155 million on an 18% growth in passengers to 2 million.
For the financial year ended March 31, the UK's largest regional carrier, which acquired BA Connect from British Airways in March 2007, reported a net profit of £39.6 million, reversing a loss of £19.9 million in the prior year.
