Antonov cargo plane crashes in Congo, killing at least 14

An Antonov 12 cargo plane operated by Trans Air Congo was destroyed Monday after crashing in the final stages of an approach at Pointe Noire Airport, Congo. According to Ascend, the plane came down in a residential area, killing at least 14 people. However, media reports have placed the death toll as high as 19.

Q8’s Antonov 12BP TN-AGK (msn 402006 built 1963) was operating a cargo flight from Brazzaville. Q8 is on the list of airlines banned within the EU.
