Kingfisher’s employees not paid for two months

Troubled Kingfisher Airlines (IT) has not paid employees since December and was unable to make a planned salary disbursement last week.

India's The Economic Times and Mint newspapers quoted a Feb. 11 email to airline employees from CEO Sanjay Aggarwal, stating, "Unfortunately, we got hit by a couple of large unanticipated payments which had to be addressed on an emergency basis." This necessitated another paycheck postponement, he explained.

"We are in serious discussions with several potential investors and expect to recapitalize the airline in the very near future," Aggarwal wrote to workers. "Let us ensure we put our best foot forward to ensure these investors see our resolve and attitude even in these difficult times."

I will address the CEO and the board of Kingfisher: Do not allow a situation whereby the workers will begin to worry about the next meal and how their children will get to school. At that point, safety of flight will come into focus and it will be time for end of play curtains.

My heart goes out to the employees of Kingfisher. It is a shame that a lot of times upper Management with some airlines and generally -worst of all the travelling public, do not fully appreciate the dedication of airline/airport staff.

This way of behaving towards

This way of behaving towards employees in certain parts of the globe is totally alien to the progressive world. Treating people like this is why we in the West enjoy such cheap prices for our sneakers, T-shirts and electronic groups.
Stealing wages in Western countries would lead to immediate down tools and walk out by the workers. I remain apalled.

The owner of this airline is supposed to be rich. How can he sleep when his poor workers cannot get their small salaries? How despicable!

I am concerned about this

I am concerned about this situation, although I am not familar with Kingfisher Airlines. Those who work without getting paid.......how do you live, work and play? Not to mention paying bills, buying food, and the other necessities that accompany a modern life. This is like a scene from the "Flintstones" but this situation is far from a "Yabba dabba do".

I wish the employees of Kingfisher well, stay up and fly high!
