ANA pilot unions warn of 24-hr. strike Wednesday

All Nippon Airways A320. By Rob Finlayson

All Nippon Airways (ANA) pilot unions have threatened a 24-hr. strike Wednesday but the airline said it is continuing negotiations to try stave off the planned industrial action and disruption to passenger services.

ANA said that no international flights will be affected but domestic flights could be subject to cancellation and/or delay. The carrier said it will have cancel 68 flights and delay another 27.

“We are very disappointed that our four pilots unions have threatened to take strike action. This action is unnecessary and will prove disruptive,” said ANA in a statement. “We have put forward a fair set of proposals with the pilots unions. ANA Group will continue urgent negotiations with the unions to avert a strike,” the carrier said.

'It is better to remain

'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt'

Maybe-and this is just a thought-one should try and learn all of the facts before ‘removing all doubt’.
