The government of Russia’s Sakhalin region has relaunched scheduled services between Kuril Kunashir and the Shikotan Islands. The first flight was performed Dec. 9 by Aviashelf Aviation Co., which used a Mil Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter. The flights between the islands were halted at the beginning of the 1990s.
