Brussels Airlines posted a net loss of €39.8 million in 2009, dramatically widened from a €6.8 million deficit in 2008, according to Belgium's Central Balance Sheet Office. Total revenue fell 16.1% to €849.2 million while operating costs decreased just 8.3% to €922.4 million.
