AirTran Airways reported a $10.4 million third-quarter profit, reversed from a $94.6 million loss in the year-ago period, as falling fuel costs and the LCC's commitment to "maintaining our industry-leading low-cost structure" paid dividends, according to CFO Arne Haak.
