AirTran Airways will curb its growth for 2008 by delaying aircraft deliveries or selling some aircraft, President and CEO Robert Fornaro said at last week's Raymond James Growth Airline Conference in New York. The carrier is forecasting a growth rate of 10% for 2008, down from 19% last year. "You make better decisions when you have fewer airplanes," he said.
