AirAsia third-quarter profit lifts to $141 million owing to fare increases, ancillary fees

The AirAsia Group has posted what it terms an "outstanding" result of a net profit of MYR447 million ($141 million) for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 on revenue of MYR1.54 billion.

The AirAsia Group has posted what it terms an "outstanding" result of a net profit of MYR447 million ($141 million) for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 on revenue of MYR1.54 billion. Individually, the profit after tax was up 152% for AirAsia to MYR327 million, up 231% for Thai AirAsia to THB529 million ($17.5 million) and up 226% to IDR191 million ($21 million) for Indonesia AirAsia.
