Air Canada reported that operating profit for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 totaled C$327 million ($324.2 million), nearly five times greater than operating income of C$68 million in the year-ago period. Although net income declined 5.8% to C$261 million from a net profit of C$277 million in the 2009 quarter the carrier noted that 2009 results benefited from C$295 million in foreign exchange gains while such gains totaled just C$90 million in the current period. ...
