Volga-Dnepr Technics (VDT) opened a new aircraft wheel and brake repair shop at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany. VDT has also extended its EASA Part 145 Certificate with a C14 rating for the repair and maintenance of wheels and brakes on Boeing 747-200/300/400/8 aircraft types.
Advanced Composites Training opened its first international training base at the Irish Centre for Composites Research—University of Limerick, Ireland to train technicians in composite airframe manufacture and structural repair.
Tarmac Aerosave announced a program which takes components from an aircraft which has been withdrawn from service and repairs them for spare parts. Airbus is the business partner for the project, called SUPER, and monitored the initial aircraft, a retired A340-300, tracking the process down the line to the individual sale of its parts.
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions has been formed by former owners of Volant Aerospace to provide aviation technicians and engineers to aircraft maintenance and production companies.
