Russian engine manufacturer UEC-Saturn, a member of United Engine Corp., reported a 2016 net profit of RUB618 million ($10.2 million) reversed from a RUB2.3 billion net loss in 2015. Full-year revenue was RUB32.3 billion, up 34.2% year-over-year.

The financial results were approved at the annual shareholders meeting June 30 and published July 5.

PowerJet, a 50/50 joint venture of UEC-Saturn and French Snecma, delivered 54 SaM146 engines (including six spare engines) for SSJ100 aircraft. UEC-Saturn said one of the key events of the SaM146 promotion at the European market in 2016 became the start of SSJ100 operations by Dublin-based regional CityJet. This year the manufacturer plans to produce more than 70 engines.

Altogether, UEC-Saturn delivered 594 engines. UEC-Saturn specializes in research and development, production, marketing and sales, after-sale services of gas-turbine engines (and power plants/units) for military and commercial aviation, power-generating and gas-pumping plants, naval and civil ships.
