Russian lessor Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) has purchased eight Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow. Deliveries are scheduled from September 2015 through the middle of 2016.
The eight aircraft are from an agreement signed at the MAKS Airshow in August 2013. According to IFC CEO Alexander Roubtsov, the new contract was necessary to establish new conditions, allowing the lessor to offer the SSJ100 to carriers on operational leases. The new contract also allows IFC to promote the SSJ100 in Europe.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. parent United Aircraft Corp. offers a residual value guarantee for the aircraft, the details of which were not disclosed. However, a significant decrease in lease payments is expected to result.
